The vibrant and reemerging Brewery District of Columbus is pleased to announce “Food Truck First Thursdays”* in and around Brewmasters Gate on Front and Liberty Streets. The first of the monthly events will be Thursday, June 5th from 4:30-9:00pm. The event is sponsored by the Brewery District Trade Association (BDTA) and the Central Ohio Food Truck Association (COFTA).
Local band, Honey Compass, will provide entertainment and World of Beer will provide beer stations inside Brewmasters Gate. Profits from beer sales will benefit both of the nonprofit sponsor organizations. Central Ohio’s finest food trucks will offer an excellent selection of eats on Front and Liberty Streets. Admission is free; laughter, enjoyment, eating and drinking are strongly encouraged.
The BDTA consists of over a dozen businesses within the confines of the district and meets monthly to discuss initiatives and plans for area development. At the helm, serving as President of the organization, is Julie Klein of Shadowbox Live.
“We are thrilled to play host to a monthly food truck event! We hosted one last fall and are excited to now bring it back on a monthly basis June through November,” said Klein. “It is our hope to draw folks down to the revitalized District and not only enjoy the food trucks, but educate and inform them about all that the Brewery District has to offer. There are a lot of new businesses making it even more of a great place to live, work and play.”
COFTA was established to provide a platform for advocacy, communication and education for its members and the community it serves. Driving the organization is President, Brian Reed of MOJO TaGO.
*it is TBA whether July’s event will actually be July 3 or 10.
